The first part of testing consists of learning and understanding certain verses from your Bible (the version you usually use). Bring your Bible, or the verses written out, so the Instructor will know which version you are using. You will then say your verses and have them signed off in your handbook by an Instructor.
The next part consists of performing a designated number of Katas in front of an Instructor (or Instructors) and achieving a passing score. Also performing the Bun-kai or breakdown of the Kata.
Higher ranking belts also have additional requirements as shown on the Testing Criteria sheet.
Such things as attitude, attendance, commitment and desire to learn, are also considered before testing.
You must also be current on your monthly dues.
TESTS WILL CONSIST OF THE LISTED CRITERIA FOR THE BELT YOU ARE TESTING FOR, AS WELL AS ALL PREVIOUS CRITERIA FOR BELTS ALREADY ACHIEVED.
AMOUNT OF KATAS TESTED, AT EACH LEVEL, IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE INSTRUCTOR OR INSTRUCTORS GIVING THE TEST.
TESTING FOR BLUE BELT AND ABOVE MAY ALSO INCLUDE KUMITE.
TESTING WILL ALSO CONSIST OF THE BUN-KAI (BREAKDOWN) OF THE KATA. THIS WILL BE REQUIRED OF ALL KATAS AND MUST BE PERFORMED WITH A PARTNER.
